Santa Hears the Wisper of My Heart

"What do you want for Christmas?" *shrugs*. "Emily, what are you going to tell Santa you want for Christmas?" *looks shy and dumbfounded* "Emily, you have to tell Santa so he'll know what to bring you." Emily, pauses, tilts her head and smiles as if she is hugging a teddy bear or has a schoolgirl crush and says, "Santa will hear the whisper of my heart."

Oh crap. "The whisper of her heart?" Sounds cute and all but we need information and we need it now. It's Christmas eve eve and she has never really put emphasis on what is most important to her. As we stand in line, I am appreciating it's length. Mommy and I use the time wisely.

Littlest Pet Shops, OK, that was easy we knew she wanted that, but what else?...A carriage for my Barbies... Huh? A carriage for your what? Those things you never play with? OK, I'd heard this one once, maybe twice before but now it's at the top of your list??? Now you're asking the big man for it???

In completely unrelated news, I spent last night shopping frantically for some last minute items for, um, Sondra.

Merry Christmas One and All. :)

What Emily Will Never Outgrow

Clearing out old toys in the wake of Christmas, tonight we were talking about what toys we can give to less fortunate kids. I said that some toys you simply outgrow. Emily turned to me and said, "I'LL NEVER OUTGROW MONEY!!!"

Um, she's only 5 and I'm in trouble. I guess apple don't fall far from trees. :)
