Madison the Troublemaker
At diner time it is not Emily who gives us trouble, nooo. It's Maddy who likes to poke her head to the side of her high chair, look at Emily screaming and laughing to see if Emily will scream back. Emily's behavior is easily corrected but Madison keeps trying to goat her into screaming back, almost making a game out of it. :)
Emily Is Never Going to Move
At least that's what she said tonight. "I never want to move out of this house even when I'm old." I'll ask her again in 10 years and see what she says.

Curiosity
A difference I am noticing between the two girls is curiosity. When I hold Maddy she likes to examine my face, my hair and beep my nose. In other words, she's curious about what is right in front of her.
When I held Emily at the same age, she was always more interested in what lay ahead. Where Madison studies my face, Emily would push away from me to better see around my head.
I wonder if this is any indication of a bigger picture...

Quoatable
"OH MY GOD, I thought you ate all that!"
-Sondra
when picking Maddy up out of the high chair only to discover all the food she though she'd eaten.

Maddy Cheers for Hockey
When the Avalanche scored a goal tonight, Maddy started clapping her hands.
Later, after a great save, Maddy pointed one finger in the air as if to say "We're Number One!"
That's my girl. :)

A Death at Pre-School?
"A Girl At School DIED!" Emily reported recently.
Upon further investigation we discovered that she died because she swallowed a fly as in "There was a girl who swallowed a fly, I don't know why. I think she'll die."
Keep twisting the story like that and Emily will have a career in media.

Chug Bug
This is what I have called Maddy for about the past 6 months when I feed her a bottle and watch her chug the entire thing down. The kid knows how to drink a bottle. :)
