Madison Shares Her Toy
Tonight Maddy was sitting on top of me chewing a wooden block letter. She pulled the block out of her mouth, and smiled as she tried to share her toy by putting the block into my mouth. :)
Side Note: as of tonight she absolutely, no longer fits into any 9-month PJs. She is, of course still only 9 months old...

Emily Wants to Be a Teacher
Tonight Emily said that she wanted to be a teacher like Ms Sherry, Ms Rhonda and Ms ???. She said that she would sit in the chair and read the stories and sing the songs!
addition: She also says that she wants to be a mechanic so she "can fix mommy's car."

Playful
Today I caught Emily laying on the floor with Madison gently playing with hands and hair saying "your my baby sister Maddy" is a sweet childlike voice.
Of course when she saw that Sondra and I were watching, she immediately stopped. Can't be caught fraternizing with the enemy. :)

Scooting
Madion is in full scoot mode, the precursor to crawling. She is very good at moving in semi-circles and pushing backwards.
She is so mobile that it is interfering with her sleep. She keeps rolling over into uncomfortable positions. A few days ago she began screaming in the middle of her nap because she had rolled over but her arm didn't complete the roll. I found her twisted on her arm in a painful position. Ouch.
On a side note she had her Dr. check-up. Apparently, Maddy is a big baby ranking in the 95th percentile for size per age. The doctor said that if she doesn't crawl within the next two months, she'll need physical therapy.
Physical therapy for healthy babies? I had to laugh. I wonder if the doctor would have said that if we weren't so well insured.

Moving to the Big Tub
Ah, soo fast. I kept her in the small plastic baby tub as long as I could (she could have moved to the big tub months ago). In part because it's easier on my back and also because it helped me forget that Madison won't be a baby much longer.
These pictures were taken on October 10th. Madison is 9 months old. Notice how tall Emily is getting...

The Kern County Fair
We took both girls to the fair yesterday. Emily and Madison both had a great time looking at pictures, seeing the animals, riding rides and drinking smoothies.
Emily's favorite farm animal is current the pig. She thought it was funny when the pigs "got in trouble" for fighting with each other.
We promised Emily one Carousel ride but when I went to buy the tickets, the lady in the booth said I would need 10 tickets! That's $10 for one ride with me standing beside her. As we later found out, the ride was only 4 tickets (scam) so we used the last 6 to put her on a couple more rides.
side note:
Pictures of both of them I had entered into the photo contest received "honorable mentions."
